| Congratulations Dave Sr: When I first met you two years ago on that Middle Fork of the Salmon trip you put together I could tell you had a strong love for wild rivers and white water, and you took joy in sharing that love with everyone on the trip. I also saw a highly skilled boat man with an eye out for everyone's safety. The meals you prepared were excellent and the camaraderie of the campfire was delightful. During that pleasant trip you mentioned more than a few times that you would like to be a professional outfitter and spend as much time as you could floating rivers and helping others enjoy the thrills, beauty and tranquility of water in motion. | Dave, Dave Jr., I heard that you guys bought a rafting company. I guess I wonder why it took you so long. You guys live on the river! My daughter Julie and I will never forget our first trip with you going 60 miles down the wild and scenic Smith River in Montana. What a superb experience that was! We never expected to be treated to such great food, campfire luxuries, rafting thrills and terrific oarsmanship. Most importantly Julie will never forget your kindness and patience in teaching her how to handle a raft in class ΙΙ whitewater. Then to top that off, you took me 90 miles down the Middle Fork of the Salmon a couple of years ago. That was just as well organized and beautiful and the fishing was superb. I really liked the side trips hiking to some local hot springs and deserted mining camps. I know that anyone in your boats are as safe as they can be, you guys are incredible rafting experts. Anyone who goes on a trip with your new company will be treated to the best first class rafting experience and pampering beyond their highest expectations. Your 1st class in equipment, and you have more amenities in food beverage and campsite luxury than any outdoor adventure I have ever been on. | Our family has been blessed to spend approximately 16 days, over the past five summers, rafting the Snake River with the Colbert’s. Our kids, now ages six and eight, still affectionately refer to Dave Colbert Sr. as “Grandpa Dave”. Dave Sr. and his family welcomed us with open arms and we truly felt like part of the family. We can’t wait until our next opportunity to see them, share in the beauty, and create more lifelong memories on a river somewhere in the great Pacific Northwest. |
